Biker jailed after attack on elderly man
An off-road biker who deliberately drove his quad bike at a family in Doncaster has been sentenced to two years in prison.
He has also been disqualified from driving.
On Tuesday 5 May, South Yorkshire Police were called to Selby Road in Askern following reports that a man had deliberately attacked a family, including a 67-year-old man and his four-year old granddaughter.
The rider of the quad bike, 28 year-old Jordan Fisher, of South Street, Doncaster shouted abuse at the wife of the victim, who had started filming Fisher on her phone.
He then drove into her 67 year-old husband and their four-year old granddaughter.
Both the man and the little girl suffered minor injuries to their legs and face.
In search of the suspect, officers in Doncaster executed warrants at at properties in Highfield and Adwick.
Jordan Fisher was subsequently arrested, charged and pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
Over recent months, South Yorkshire Police have been actively pursuing nuisance bikers.
Roads Policing Sergeant Matt Duffy said:
“Fisher’s act was deliberate, foolish and could have resulted in serious injuries.
“Behaviour that poses a risk to our communities will not be tolerated and we will always seek to take action against those involved.
“We are working hard to tackle those who use off-road bikes in a dangerous and anti-social manner.
“We are stronger with the public’s help and thank you for your on-going efforts in helping us identify those involved.”
Fisher appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 24 July.
Addressing the court Edward Moss, mitigating, said:
“This defendant has been absolutely wracked with guilt from day one.
“He is a father of two children.
“The mere thought he could have injured a child in this way absolutely crucifies him.
“He knows there can be no excuses for what happened that day. He was a family man. He has not seen his children since he was remanded into custody.
“It’s fair to say retribution has been sought.
“He was identified on Facebook. His dogs have been poisoned. His family have received threats from the local community.”
The off-road biker has now been jailed for two years after his attack on elderly man and a young child.
