Portsmouth trains hit by trespass incident

A TRESPASS incident caused major disruption to trains across the Portsmouth area this morning (Tuesday, July 28).
It happened between two city stations, Portsmouth Harbour and Fratton.
South Western Railway made the announcement on Twitter at 6.30am that all lines were blocked.
A statement said: “Due to trespass on the railway between Portsmouth Harbour and Fratton all lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 08:30.”
Shortly before 7am it was announced that all lines had reopened, however the disruption was expected to last until after rush hour.
