Nominate your local NHS hero for a prize
Residents have the opportunity to nominate their NHS heroes in North East Lincolnshire and see them in with a chance of winning a bike and accessories.
The competition’s aim is to thank local NHS workers for their heroic efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and three NHS heroes will benefit.
It is sponsored by Cottingham-based charity R-evolution.
R-evolution, funded by the council’s Access Fund, has provided bikes to North East Lincolnshire residents in recent months through their ongoing bike project. Residents in receipt of the bikes also received safety equipment, helping them to commute to and from work safely and sustainably.
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “The council and ENGIE are extremely proud to continue working alongside R-evolution to run this competition.
“The NHS do an amazing job and have continued to do so throughout this pandemic. This competition is just a small token of our thanks to them, and I urge those who know an NHS worker to nominate them today.”
John Marshall, Chief Executive at R-evolution, added: “We are so pleased to be doing our bit to support North East Lincolnshire Council and their partner, ENGIE, to promote cycling across the area.
“Throughout the lockdown period, we have provided over 100 free cycle repairs for key workers. We understand how important it is to help those avoiding public transport to get to work at this difficult time.”
