By Suspicious behaviour in Scunthorpe garden
A public appeal has been issued following the arrest of a man who was found lurking in a Scunthorpe garden.
Officers were called to the property in the Hilltop Avenue area of Scunthorpe at around midnight yesterday, Sunday 2 August.
A resident reported seeing an unfamiliar man in the garden of their home.
Unfortunately, the suspect fled scene when he was confronted by the occupier.
At this stage, it is not believed anything was stolen.
However, residents in the area are being urged to remain vigilant and to check their properties and outbuildings for signs of any disturbance.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with reports of suspicious behaviour in the garden in Scunthorpe.
He remains in police custody at this time.
In a statement released this afternoon, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said:
“Did you see or hear anything suspicious in the Hilltop Avenue area of Scunthorpe overnight?
“If you have any information or concerns, please call our non-emergency 101 line, quoting incident number 16/81041/20.”
