According to the mother of the victim, the young girl was assaulted yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 4 August, at a park in Noddle Hill Way in north Hull.

The 11-year-old girl was approached and attacked by another girl who was supposedly her friend.

The mother alleges there were multiple attackers, and says her daughter rang her father “sobbing” saying that she had been “attacked”.

The video shows a girl kicking and hitting the victim, leaving her sobbing on the ground.

Others can be heard encouraging the attacker during the 22-second clip.

The horrific incident was recorded and uploaded to social media.

Humberside Police have subsequently launched an investigation and are seeking to identify the other people in the video.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“Enquiries are underway following reports that an 11-year-old girl was assaulted by another child yesterday, Tuesday, August 4,” she said.

“The assault took place on Noddle Hill Way at around 3.30pm when the 11-year-old was approached by a group of children.

“A girl from the group, who is believed to be known to the victim, then reportedly assaulted the 11-year-old.

“We are appealing to anyone that witnessed the incident or has information that may help our enquiries to call our non-emergency 101 line quoting crime reference 16/81694/20.”

Humberside Police are now appealing for information and witnesses.
