Cyclist struck by van in Grimsby

Humberside Police have closed Stanley Street and Wellington Street in Grimsby following an incident where a woman appears to have been struck by a white van.

The woman was initially believed to have been a pedestrian, however it has now been confirmed that she is a cyclist.

The collision appears to have happened at the junction of the two roads.

An air ambulance was seen circling overhead, before landing in Grant Thorold Park shortly after 10am.

Crews from East Midlands Ambulance Service crews have also attended the scene.

There is a heavy police presence, and the public are being urged to avoid the area.

The woman has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.

Her condition is currently unknown.

The road is still closed.

Humberside Police have been contacted for a statement.
