The heartbroken family of a Doncaster man who was killed in a fatal motorbike crash have issued a fresh appeal for information.

Steven Taylor, 25, was killed on Wednesday 24 June when his motorbike collided with a pickup truck on Carr Lane, Thrybergh, at around 3.50pm.

But details of what exactly what happened are still unclear.

Steven’s family are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to find out what happened.

He suffered serious head injuries, and sadly died in hospital the following day.

The family appeal comes after South Yorkshire Police issued a fresh appeal for witnesses who were present at the scene.

Steven’s cousin Claire said:

“The police were hoping for Steven to wake up to get his account of what happened.

“They’ve only got a few statements and they know there was more people at the scene so they need to speak to everybody to get a true picture.

“He was a really careful and considerate driver, he never took risks, never took chances.

“I don’t know how else to describe just how unusually careful he was.

“He was probably one of the nicest people you would meet.

“He was kind, caring, always put others first, never a bad word to say about anybody.

“It’s been heartbreaking – it is like a piece of the family is gone.”

Officers are continuing to investigate the fatal crash that cost Steven his life.

They say they are particularly keen to speak to a woman they believe is a district nurse and two men who were present at the scene of the crash.

The two men had been travelling in a black mark 3 Ford Escort.

The woman is reported to have given medical assistance to the injured motorcyclist.

Steven’s family are also campaigning for the speed limit on the 60mph road to be lowered.

Anyone who was present at the scene of the crash or has CCTV or dash cam footage should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, referencing incident number 678 of 24 June.
