Scunthorpe offender behind bars after police chase

A prolific Scunthorpe offender has landed himself behind bars again following a frightening police chase.

Archibald Pollock, 31, of Jackson Road, Scunthorpe, was banned from driving for three years and nine months at the time of the incident.

He was handed the ban in July 2017 after committing traffic offences which included swerving from side to side in heavy traffic before hitting a parked car.

During a previous hearing, Pollock admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, failing to provide a specimen of blood and possessing crack cocaine.

Defying the ban, Pollock was caught attempting to evade police capture behind the wheel of a car again last month.

Humberside Police officers spotted the defendant in a VW Golf in Lakeside Parkway, Scunthorpe, after which he led them on a lengthy chase.

At his latest court appearance he admitted to charges of driving while banned and having no insurance.

Pollock also admitted breaching a suspended prison sentence.

Appearing at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court, Archibald Pollock has been jailed once again, this time for 26 weeks.

He has received a further driving ban of 18 months.
