Extra date for popular Dudley-area event

A popular Dudley-area event will return at the weekend after an extra date has been added.

The Antiques and Collectors Fair will take place at Himley Hall and Park on Sunday (August 23).

The event will be held outdoors in the hall courtyard and lawns between 9am and 4pm.

Social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place to ensure the safety of both visitors and traders.

The fairs are normally held bi-monthly mainly inside the 18th century building, but came to a halt before lockdown to ensure the safety of the public and traders.

Traders from around the UK will once again attend the currently outdoor fair with an array of antiques and collectable items including the quirky and unusual.

Councillor Ian Kettle, Dudley Council’s cabinet member responsible for Himley Hall, said: “Following the success of the event in July, we are pleased the collectors’ fair is back at Himley Hall again.

“I would encourage people to come along and enjoy the event, remembering to practise good hand hygiene and social distancing to help keep everyone safe.”

Event Organiser, Vicky Rowson, said: “We are delighted that Himley Hall have invited us back for this extra date in August, the last event was a great success and it was lovely to see traders having a catch up albeit at a distance.

“We are proud to have traders who offer such a fabulous variety of items for sale and we look forward to welcoming the public.”

Himley Hall’s Coffee Lounge will be open for takeaway refreshments. Admission £2 under 16s free.
