A Grimsby man has found himself behind bars again having been labelled a prolific burglar.

Daniel Sleeth, 39, was arrested after a member of the public saw him climbing into the window of a house in an attempted burglary on Bestall Road, Grimsby, in the afternoon of Monday, 13 July.

Sleeth already has 23 previous convictions, according to a report by Humberside Police.

Today, he has been jailed for a further three years and four months after admitting further offences of burglary and theft.

On Monday 13 July, officers received the report and attended the scene on Bestall Road.

They found Sleeth nearby with the keys to the house.

He had recently been released from prison on licence, where he had been serving an eight year sentence for burglary imposed in January 2016.

At his latest court appearance, Sleeth also admitted stealing clothing and equipment from an electrician’s van parked in Park Street, Grimsby, on Wednesday, 8 July and taking jewellery and car keys from a property in Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes a short time later.

He also damaged CCTV cameras at the property.

He was immediately recalled to prison to serve the remaining term of his previous sentence, which will run concurrently with today’s sentence.
