Swindon teenager taken to hospital with stab wound

A teenager suffered a stab wound in an incident at a play area in Swindon.

Police were called by the ambulance service at around 6.30pm yesterday (Monday) as they were dealing with a patient in the area of Highdown Way, in Blunsdon St Andrew.

A teenage boy had suffered a stab wound to the arm and was taken to Great Western Hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests had been made.

Detective Sergeant Catherine Price, from Swindon CID, said: “Our enquiries are at a very early stage but we believe the victim was assaulted in the nearby play area in Wallis Drive.

“People living in the area are likely to see an increased police presence while we continue our investigation and we would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to call us.”
