Police appeal after body found in Grimsby park

Investigations are continuing this morning (Sunday) after the body of a man was recovered from an area of water in a Grimsby park.
Humberside Police were called to Ainslie Park shortly after 11.30am yesterday with reports of a person being seen in an area of water.
Emergency services attended and the body of a man was recovered.
An area of the park remained cordoned off and guarded by officers last night.
Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the man’s death, at this stage it is being treated as unexplained.
The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was in the park yesterday morning and saw anything concerning.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 285 of 22 August or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Yesterday evening police appealed for help identifying a woman who they believed to be a witness. She has since been identified and police thanked everyone that shared their appeals or called in with information.
