Council launches new service for job seekers

North Lincolnshire Council has launched a new service for job seekers in the borough, it has been announced.

Every Thursday, the local jobs section of the council website will publish a list of vacancies from businesses across North Lincolnshire.

Over 80 new jobs were listed last Thursday when the initiative began – vacancies will be refreshed weekly.

As well as council vacancies, there are jobs in the care sector, retail and hospitality, IT, apprenticeships, and warehouse and factory work.

There will also be information on new apprenticeships, traineeships and work experience opportunities.

Councillor Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“While we are in challenging economic times, there are still many companies across North Lincolnshire looking to recruit.

“The new council service launched today will put many of these jobs in one place and enable job seekers to apply at the click of a button.

“It will also highlight the many ways the council and other agencies can support people back into work – for example learning new skills, writing CVs, and interview techniques.

“The council continues to work with local businesses to grow the economy in North Lincolnshire.

“As well as helping job seekers, the new service will also enable businesses find the right person with the right skills for their vacancies.”

A new initiative, titled the Next Step Hour, has also been launched as part of a partnership between the council and the Job Centre.

Beginning today between 11am and 12pm, the workshop is set to provide information and advice on career progression.
