A six-week consultation process is underway regarding a proposal for a new housing development in East Carr, Hull City Council have announced.

The affected site is located to the east of Howdale Road and Dunvegan Road.

Following a number of rounds of consultation, the plan has been examined, and the site allocated.

The purpose of the current consultation is to share the council’s views on how to ensure that any new housing on this site is well designed, that open space is well laid out, drainage and flooding issues are addressed and that access within and beyond the site is carefully considered.

Alex Codd, the council’s assistant director for economic development and regeneration, said:

“This is an important opportunity for local people to express their views about the nature of development proposed for this area.

“The council welcomes such feedback with the intention of ensuring a well-planned housing development that not only meets identified housing needs but is sensitive to the needs of existing residents.”

The six-week consultation is already underway and will run until Monday 21 September.

The local authority is also arranging drop-in sessions at The Saltshouse Tavern between 11am and 7pm on Wednesday 26 August and Wednesday 9 September.

Detailed plans of the development can be viewed here, via the Hull City Council website.
