Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Reading.
Police are urgently seeking the support of the community following an incident involving a van and a cyclist in Reading.
At around 7.10pm on Wednesday 26 August 2020, on Coley Avenue, close to the junction with Berkley Avenue in Reading, a man in his twenties, was on his electric bicycle when he was struck by a van and had his bicycle and footwear stolen by two men.
Police have reason to believe that the van was driven deliberately at the victim.
As a result of the incident, the victim sustained minor injuries to his ribs, face and legs and has required treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. He he has since been discharged.
Investigating officer PC Josh Gillespie, based at Reading police station said:
“I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dash-cam footage of a dark transit van to please get in touch. Likewise, if you recognise the men described, or if you believe it could be you, please come forward. You can make a report online or by calling 101 and quoting reference 43200267565.”
One offender is described as a black man around 28-years-old, approximately 6ft 4in tall and of a slim build. He had black plaited hair, a black stubbly beard and was wearing a dark tracksuit.
The other offender is described as a white man around 21-years-old, around 5ft 9in tall and of a medium build. He had short dark hair and a messy beard.
The vehicle the offenders were driving is described as a dark coloured transit van.
