Video captures child being swept up by kite

Dramatic video footage has captured the moment a child was swept into the air after becoming caught in the strings of her kite, which took her several metres into the air.

It is reported that the girl was taking part in a kite festival Sunday in the seaside town of Nanlioao, Taiwan, when she became attached to and was swept up by a giant orange kite.

Amateur video footage was quickly distributed to local news platforms.

It showed her twisting in the air above a crowd of adults who struggled to pull the kite to the ground.

The 3-year old Taiwanese girl is said to be safe, and has received no physical injuries, but is a little shaken up.
