Coronavirus forces temporary closure of village pub

A popular village pub close to Grimsby has closed temporarily due to a suspected Covid-19 case.

The New Inn, in Great Limber, is asking anyone who has been there in the last few days to contact them as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said today: “To all our customers, we are terribly sorry but we are going to have to close the pub temporarily as we have a suspected covid case.

“As a precaution we are going to close, get tested, do another thorough deep clean and sanitise and then keep you all updated via this (Facebook) page.

“We are contacting customers who have visited us in the last few days and would ask anyone who has been here to contact us as soon as possible. Many thanks to everyone for all your support and understanding in this matter.”

One person thanked the pub through social media, saying: “A massive thank you for doing the right thing, wishing you all, all the best and fingers crossed you’ll be back up and running very soon.”

This grade II listed inn, presented by Coastal & Country Inns, nestles in the heart of the Brocklesby Estate and has welcomed visitors for nearly 240 years.

It is located near Humberside Airport and within 15 minutes’ drive of Grimsby, Cleethorpes, and Immingham.
