Pedestrian in potentially fatal collision
Brigg Road in Scunthorpe was closed yesterday evening following a collision between a pedestrian and a van.
The incident occurred at around 8.10pm, when a man walking along the road was struck by a red Renault van.
Emergency services attended the scene and closed the road between Cottage Beck Road and East Common Lane for several hours.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains.
According to Humberside Police, the man involved is alleged to have suffered ‘potentially life-threatening injuries’.
The force have now issued an appeal for information and dash cam footage.
The report reads:
“We are appealing for witnesses to a collision on Brigg Road in Scunthorpe that happened at 8.10pm yesterday (Friday 11 September).
“A man, a pedestrian, suffered serious and potentially life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a red Renault van.
“We are asking for anyone that has dashcam footage of around that time from the location or who saw the collision to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 555 of 11 September 2020.”
