Humberside Police have issued an update after two people have been left fighting for their lives following a collision on Marlborough Way, in Cleethorpes‘ Country Park.

The incident occurred at around 10.35pm on Friday 18 September.

According to reports, the rider of a CF Moto C-Force quad bike lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip over multiple times.

The road was closed for several hours as detectives attempted to establish the cause of the single-vehicle crash.

The rider and the passenger, a man and a woman, were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with critical injuries.

Both remain in hospital.

Damage was caused to nearby vehicles, but nobody else was injured in the collision.

Their families have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The incident was captured on CCTV cameras belonging to a Marlborough Way resident.

Now, officers have renewed their appeal for dash cam footage.

Speaking at the time, a Humberside Police spokesperson said:

“An investigation has been launched following a single vehicle collision in Cleethorpes last night (Friday, 18 September).

“A man and woman have suffered potentially life threatening injuries as a result of the incident, which happened in Malborough Way at around 10.35pm.

Their families have been informed and are being supported by our teams. At this time, they have asked that they are not publicly identified.”

Today, they added:

“Investigations continue and we ask any witnesses, that have not already spoken to us, to get in touch by calling 101 quoting log 670 of September 18.”

According to a police report, the vehicle is primarily designed for off-road use.

The force are currently piecing together their available information in order to establish the cause of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the bike travelling down Grimsby Road, through Humberston and into the Country Park estate is asked to contact Humberside Police.
