Police seek good Samaritan in Grimsby

Humberside Police have issued a message of thanks to an unidentified woman in Grimsby after she assisted a vulnerable person on Tuesday.

It is reported that an elderly woman suffering from dementia became confused on her way home from hospital, and began walking home instead of waiting for her pre-arranged transport.

She became lost in the Second Avenue area of the Nunsthorpe and stopped another woman to ask for directions.

At this point, this kind-hearted woman called the lady a taxi and paid her fare to ensure that she got home safely.

Humberside Police, and the family of the elderly woman, would like to thank the good samaritan.

PCSO Andy Whittaker said:

“If this woman had not been so caring, the elderly lady could have become even more lost and confused and could have easily come to serious harm.

“If you’re reading this, please get in touch, as both we and the lady’s husband would love to be able to thank you personally for your kindness.

“If this was you, or you have any information that could help us find the lady, please call us on our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log 450 of September 22.”
