THE development of a flagship headquarters for one of the region’s fastest-growing tech companies is progressing well at North East Lincolnshire Council’s new business park.

With the steel frame now in place, work is commencing on the exterior cladding and interior space for what will be the new home of myenergi.

The three-floor HQ is taking shape, incorporating production, office, research and development, and breakout space.

As interest in its innovative products grows, myenergi is fast becoming a global force in the renewable energy market.

Famous advocates include the TV personality Charley Boorman who is partnering with the firm to transfer his home and vehicles to using cleaner and greener energy.

Originally based in Binbrook, the myenergi team is in a temporary base in central Grimsby and is expected to move into its new 15,500 sq ft premises in the spring next year.

It is already planning expansion into the adjacent plot at the business park, which is located just off the A180 at Stallingborough.

Part of North East Lincolnshire Council’s ambitious £42 million SHIIP (South Humber Industrial Investment Programme), the development is being managed by the authority’s regeneration partner ENGIE with its Technical Design Team taking a lead on the design and build.

The premises’ construction is aided by a £950,000 grant through the Local Growth Fund, Humber Growth Deal grant programme, secured by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership as part of the Government’s commitment to the Northern Powerhouse.

Also, part of SHIIP is the A1173 highway improvement work, with a new roundabout under construction to gain access to the park along with improvements to the access roads and A180 approach. It is on schedule to finish on time in December.
