Nottingham Forest midfielder Jake Taylor has joined Scunthorpe United FC on loan, it has been announced.

League Two side Scunthorpe United have signed 22-year-old Taylor on a season-long deal.

Having spent last season with Port Vale, Taylor has yet to make a first-team appearance for Championship outfit Forest.

He is eligible to make his debut for the Iron when they travel to play against the Tranmere Rovers this Saturday.

Today was Taylor’s first training session with Scunthorpe United.

Discussing the recent acquisition Cox told iFollow Iron:
“He’s come into the camp this morning and looks really fit, strong and raring to go. I think it’s another good player that we’ve managed to get in the building.
“He’s a good all-round footballer with a little bit more experience than most of our lads. He’s looked really sharp this morning in training.”
“Jake went on loan from Nottingham Forest to Port Vale and did really well.
“He can score goals from midfield and can play in a number of positions. He’s scored some great goals. He gets in the box and arrives in there late. We need to score goals from wide, from midfield and from our forwards.
“He’s another body that we’ve got for our hectic period coming up.
“I’d like to thank Nottingham Forest for that.

“They enjoy having their players come to us as they know we look after them, we play them the right way and we keep them fit. It’s good of Nottingham Forest and Gary Brazil to help us out.”
