Boy (7) critically ill after Grimsby road collision

The child was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the incident on Durban Road.

Humberside Police officers were called to the scene shortly before 5pm yesterday (Monday), following the collision between the boy – who was on foot – and a silver Kia Picanto.

An air ambulance attended.

A police spokesman said: “An investigation has been launched into the circumstances and specialist officers are supporting the boy’s family and the driver at this very difficult time.

“At this time, his family has requested that he is not publicly identified.”
