School sends children home a month after deep clean
A local secondary school has sent children home following a confirmed case of coronavirus just a month after it was forced to close for a deep clean.
Baysgarth School, in Barton-upon-Humber, informed parents of the situation via a letter:
It reads:
“I am writing to inform you that we have received confirmation that a member of our school community has tested positive for Covid-19.
“Following government and local authority guidance, the affected person has immediately started their isolation.
“We have also sent a letter to parents and carers of students and notified the staff of the school bubble affected telling them that they need to isolate for 14 days in line with the government guidance.
“I would like to reassure you that our school is very careful to make sure everyone follows government and local authority guidance for cleaning and social distancing.
“Should any member of your household begin to display symptoms of Covid-19 please arrange for them to be tested and inform the school immediately.”
It is not currently known whether it is a student or member of staff who has tested positive.
The school has instructed a bubble of students to self-isolate for 14 days, in accordance with advice from Public Health England.
Baysgarth School remains open to all other students.
