Police investigate targeted burglary in Grimsby

Humberside Police have launched a public appeal as part of an investigation what is thought to be a targeted burglary in Grimsby.

The incident is said to have taken place on Villa Court at 10am on Friday 23 October.

Officers say they are appealing for any information that might help the investigation.

It was reported that a group of three men wearing face masks and black gloves had broken into a property, assaulting a man inside and stealing his phone and cash.

All of the men are described as being of a heavy build.

One is reported to have been wearing a hi-viz vest, another wearing a black jacket with black flat cap and the third wearing distinctive black framed glasses with an accent that wasn’t local to the area.

They are believed to have travelled along Humberston Road before and immediately after the incident.

A statement issued by Humberside Police this morning reads:

“We would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be a targeted attack with no wider risk to the community.

“We would ask anyone who saw men matching the description in the area, or any road users with dash cam footage who travelled along Humberston Road in either direction between 9.45am and 10.15am that morning to get in contact with us using our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 104 of 23 October.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
