Warrant uncovers major cannabis factory in Grimsby

A drugs warrant executed on Friday 23 October uncovered a large cannabis factory on the junction of Freeman Street and Garibaldi Street in Grimsby.

Upon entry, officers discovered thousands of cannabis plants and growing equipment spread across three floors of the property.

An investigation has now been launched by Humberside Police.

It is believed that the factory and equipment had been housed next door to The Regal.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:

“Our officers are gathering evidence and dismantling the grow and the electricity supply is being made safe.

“No one has been arrested in connection with the investigation at this time and our enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information about the premises and the activities within should call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 265 of 23 October 2020.

“If you don’t want to speak to the police but have information you want to share you can call Crimestoppers, an independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111. The information you provide is anonymous and you could be in line for a reward.”

Humberside Police’s Operation Galaxy team have been cracking down on cannabis growers across the Humber region with a series of raids.
