Are you an experienced Positive Behaviour Support professional passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live lives that make sense to them?

A vacancy has arisen within MacIntyre’s Lead PBS team based initially across our children’s homes in St Albans and Leighton Buzzard and later supporting the setup of a third children’s home in the area.

You will be supported in the role by the Registered Manager and Head of PBS and will work as part of a diverse team of seven Lead PBS Coaches across MacIntyre’s services for children, young people and adults.

MacIntyre takes a pro-active approach to PBS. This means that rather than responding to escalating behaviours of concern, the main aim of the role is to pro-actively develop the skills of young people and their staff teams.

You will hold, or be working towards, a professional qualification in PBS, such as a degree or Masters level qualification in PBS or similar, the IABA Longitudinal programme or BTEC Diploma in PBS (level 5), or you will have some other way of professionally evidencing your ability to work at this level. Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) accreditation would be desirable but is not essential. Ideally you will have experience of implementing PBS with people with a wide range of needs including people on the autism spectrum and people with mental health diagnoses. Knowledge about the impacts of previous trauma for people supported and the teams around them would also be valuable.

Benefits for you:

Clinical Supervision and CPD support provided by our partners Redstone PBS

Prevent Teach Reinforce training

Support with other relevant CPD

By working for MacIntyre, an award winning, leading organisation in the implementation of PBS nationally, you will be supported to develop your PBS skills further.

You will need to be flexible in your working patterns and be able to travel to each of the children’s homes. You will need to be a driver and have your own transport.

If you would like to find out more then please read the attached job description and person specification. If you have any questions about the role or would like an informal discussion you can contact Belinda Bradley: .
