Bridlington man charged in connection with a serious assault and burglary in Scunthorpe

A Bridlington man has been charged in connection with a serious assault and burglary after handing himself in to the police following a wanted appeal.

Detectives have charged 28-year-old Joshua Esberger of Cranbeck Close, Bridlington in connection with a burglary and violent assault on Stockshill Road in Scunthorpe on 16 April 2018.

The incident took place shortly after 8pm on Monday, 16 April, 2018. A man was working at the back of his van when he was violently assaulted, leaving him with life-changing injuries.

Following a police appeal, Joshua Esberger handed himself into Bridlington police station on Friday, 6 November and was charged yesterday with Section 18 assault causing grievous bodily harm and burglary.

He is due to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on Monday.
