A new clothing store has opened in the heart of Scunthorpe town centre, as residents are encouraged to back small businesses and shop safely this Christmas.

True Heroes London offers a great selection of men’s casual wear, stocking premium brands including: Mish Mash, Bewley & Ritch, Trojan and many more.

Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“We are delighted to see True Heroes London launch and wish them every success for the future”.

“This new business will further expand the retail offer in the town centre, bringing more choice to shoppers“.

The opening is an emotional twist of fate for owner Des Comerford, who returns to the same premises, 4 Ravendale Street North, where he opened his first business, the much-loved Dee Jay’s, 37 years ago.

The launch of True Heroes London comes at an exciting time for the county town.

Since 2015, £40m of funding has been invested in Scunthorpe town centre by North Lincolnshire Council and Government alongside businesses and educational institutions – creating hundreds of new jobs and quality public space.

Reflecting on the opening of True Heroes London, Des said:

“I have been totally overwhelmed by the reaction to the new business”.

“So many customers, old and new have popped by the shop to wish me well”.

“Smaller, local businesses bring so much to town centres”.

“We pride ourselves on sourcing carefully selected products and delivering fantastic customer service”.

“I really value the relationships I have built with my customers, they are more like friends to me”.

With more retailers opening their doors, local public health officials are calling on shoppers to stay safe as they stock up by following the guidelines.
