Cleethorpes drivers warned to take extra care as hundreds of nails scattered down promenade

Drivers in Cleethorpes have been warned to take extra care after concerned local and responder with LCAT (Lincolnshire Community Assistance Team), Aaron Goss, took to facebook to warn drivers about the hundreds of nails and screws that have been strewn down the promenade, specifically at the roundabout.

The FaceBook post read:

“Some delightful person has thrown hundreds of nails on the road to catch out cars”.

“The car in-front of me had all 4 tyres with multiple nails in and is going to struggle to pay for repairs with Christmas coming up and a child on the way”.

“I stayed and warned cars until the council arrived to clear it up but there maybe a few left that we couldn’t see”.

“After I found the nails, I called it into LCAT control and they set me as ‘on scene’ until the council arrived”.

He later added:

“It’s thanks to them that we can stay at scenes trusted by police to keep them safe until clean up crews arrive”.

It seems that this is not the first time an incident like this has taken place down Cleethorpes promenade, after local business owner of Wonderland Market expressed that he had to clean up a pile of nails scattered in the road just days previous to this incident.
