Top Town Market to remain open during lockdown

Top Town Market will be permitted to remain open for essential items during lockdown, North East Lincolnshire Council have confirmed.

Several of the stalls are also offering delivery services for those who wish to remain in the safety of their homes during this difficult period.

Nine stalls remain operational at Top Town Market, located in the Bull Ring at Grimsby Town Centre:

  • The Kiosk – newspapers and magazines
  • The Veg Stall
  • The Meat Master
  • Hutson Brothers Fruit & Veg
  • Fred’s Fisheries
  • New Haven Eggs
  • Carl’s Meat
  • Birketts Butchers
  • Turner Brothers Fruit & Veg

They are permitted to adhere to Government guidelines on face coverings and social distancing at all times.

Councillor Philip Jackson said:

“As a council, we’re committed to continuing to provide our essential services throughout this lockdown, as we did in the first lockdown.

“Keeping our spend local during this time is vital to support our businesses and traders. If we all follow the guidance, we can shop safely.

“A number of traders are taking telephone orders or offering a delivery service for people who would rather have their groceries delivered.

“I would like to thank the Top Town Market shoppers for adhering to all of the measures put in place so far and allowing us and the traders to remain open for the local community throughout the pandemic.”

The market is currently operating on reduced hours due to the ongoing pandemic.

It is currently open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 9am and 3pm.
