Health Tree Foundation receives selfless donations
Health Tree Foundation has received numerous selfless donations during the pandemic which will help to improve our hospitals.
The Health Tree Foundation is the NHS charity supporting Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole Hospitals and the services provided to patients in the community.
Karl, a post room Porter at Grimsby Hospital, raised over £1560 for the foundation from dressing up as the Grinch over Christmas in the hospital.
His donation will help towards the Cardiology Day Case Unit.
The unit will be able to purchase additional equipment at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
Another recent donation was from Crochet at Teri’s who hand made numerous teddies for the hospital.
The teddies will help elderly patients who may be suffering with dementia and will be included in rainbow baby boxes that are given to parents who have experienced a previous pregnancy loss.
Many others have also used the pandemic to do something positive in their spare time for the hospital such as: sponsored walks, selling pin badges, raffles, and prize draws.
All three of the hospitals within Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Trust are incredibly important to every individual in our region.
Health Tree Foundation said: “The amazing teams we work with are the heartbeat of what we do, and play a hugely important role in all of our lives.”
“At the Health Tree Foundation we want to ensure that each and every time someone walks through the hospital doors the best available equipment is waiting for them, in a comfortable and welcoming environment.”
All donations improve the hospitals themselves, support the research that will deliver the treatments of tomorrow, enable staff to benefit from specialist medical training, and install state-of-the-art equipment and community services across our region.
Donations are invested across the trust to enhance patient experience, this could be buying new equipment, transforming a whole ward, refurbishing a relatives room, enhancing a waiting area or re modelling a garden space with the hospital.
