A man is scheduled to appear in court following an incident where two Humberside Police officers were assaulted, and a police van was damaged.

Robert Holmes, 43, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday.

He was taken into police custody, and subsequently charged with two counts of assault on an emergency worker.

According to reports, Holmes is alleged to have headbutted and spat at officers, before urinating in a police vehicle.

Holmes has also been charged with failing to stop his vehicle when requested by officers, and with driving without licence or insurance.

He has now been remanded in custody.
