John Leggott College are a recognised TASS accredited institution

John Leggott College are nationally recognised for their support of high level athletes as part of a Dual Career Pathway which means they are TASS accredited.

The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is a Sport England funded partnership between athletes, education institutions and national governing bodies of sport. They work together to bring the best out of our country’s most exciting young talent.

TASS helps athletes in education, aged 16 plus, to get the very best from their sporting and academic careers without having to choose between the two. (TASS, 2021)

John Leggott College support students to follow their sporting success alongside their studies and help adapt to suit their study programme at JLC with them; whether that includes studying virtually whilst competing additional qualifications to support their career aim.

Andy Petch, Sport and Health Area Lead at the college said ‘As a college, it is fantastic achievement and honour to be able to support students on their academic studies while they have the flexibility to support their sport specialism and continuing competing. The best thing is that these students can still study their three course options, that again don’t require to be sport related. ‘
