The Haven supporting mental health in our area

The Haven is a project commissioned by North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning group and run by Scunthorpe and District Mind.

The project has been designed to give people in North Lincolnshire access to out of hours mental health support and help people who experience distress.

The main aim of the project is to reduce the risk of mental health crisis. The Haven is a safe space for people who want to talk to someone about their mental health urgently.

The Haven is open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 6 pm and midnight.

All staff members working in the Haven are trained professionals who will help you feel safe and supported and would be able to offer advise about other services available.

Scunthorpe and District Mind has been awarded the Mind Quality Mark (MQM).

The MQM is a robust quality assurance framework created by Mind, the mental health charity.

MQM sets out the baseline of best practice and legal compliance in all areas of a local Mind’s governance and activities. To achieve the MQM, a local Mind must meet or exceed all 24 key standards.

Local Minds undergo a rigorous assessment which includes a thorough appraisal of organisational policies and procedures as well as a visit and interviews with trustees, staff, volunteers and people who use services. MQM is awarded when all standards are fully met.

Anyone aged 16 years and over can call 01724 279500 from 6pm – 12 midnight. Trained staff will be able to support people in managing their thoughts of self harm, distress, low mood and to help prevent crisis.

If you don’t get through straight away, please leave your name and telephone number and a member of the team will call you back.
