Cleethorpes man injured in attempted robbery

An investigation has been launched following an attempted robbery at 12pm yesterday, Tuesday 23 February.

The incident took place on the North Promenade in Cleethorpes.

Humberside Police are now appealing for witnesses.

According to reports, a man in a blue Fiat Punto and a man on a moped approached another man as he was riding his electric bike and tried to take it from him.

The moped rider is said to have assaulted the victim in the process.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which aren’t thought to be serious.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:

“If you believe you witnessed the incident, or have any information that could assist our ongoing investigation, call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 202 of 23 February.”
