Police issue update on Scartho collision

Humberside Police have issued an update following a collision on Scartho Road in Grimsby yesterday evening at around 5:15pm.

The road was closed after a cyclist crashed into a lamppost, and subsequently collided with a car.

The cyclist, a young boy, was airlifted to hospital after the incident.

His injuries are, fortunately, not thought to be life threatening.

Two ambulances and two police cars also attended the scene.

Yesterday evening, a spokesperson for Humberside Police tweeted:
“We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on Scartho Road, Grimsby.
“The road is closed, please avoid the area.”
A spokesperson has now said:
“On Tuesday 23 February at approximately 5.15pm we received reports of a road traffic collision between a car and bike on Scartho Road, Grimsby.
“A boy was taken by air ambulance to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, thankfully, they are not believed to be life threatening.”
