Going nuts for Doughnut Dreams!

The idea of Doughnut Dreams began, like many new businesses, during lockdown.

Founder of Doughnut Dreams Hannah Palmer-Powell said “as doughnut lovers, both my husband and I have had our fair share of store-bought doughnuts, but we found that the options available had started to feel slightly generic and repetitive to us. We decided to find someone in our local area who sold doughnuts but found that while there are some fantastic local options to purchase homemade cakes and other treats, we struggled to find anyone creating homemade doughnuts.”

“This really encouraged us to explore the possibility of starting our own business, and the fact that we were in a national lockdown really gave my husband and I much more time at home together which we used as our opportunity to finally start our own business. It has always been an ambition of ours to work for ourselves and we hope that with hard work and the business’s continued growth, that Doughnut Dreams will allow us to do so.

“We wanted to create a business that we are passionate about and that would allow us the opportunity to be creative. We are passionate in supporting local businesses and small businesses and are very much looking forward to interacting with our local community during such an isolating time. We hope that our doughnuts will bring as much joy to our customers as they have to us. Our little lockdown idea has finally blossomed into the start of our business adventure, and we could not be more thrilled with the response it has gotten so far. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way, and we are excited to see what the future holds for Doughnut Dreams.

Doughnut Dreams are small independent business based in Scunthorpe specialising in creating homemade doughnuts for all occasions.

Hannah continued “we are based in Scunthorpe and we currently offer collection and local delivery. We have the future in our sights and hope that in time our delivery area will widen across North Lincolnshire and eventually that we will offer services nationwide.

“The name Doughnut Dreams was chosen almost immediately for our business. We wanted our name to be catchy, simple and to the point. No confusion over what we specialise in making. We wanted our logo to be simple yet effective, which is why we went for the pink colour of our packaging and the repeating doughnut and cloud logo. Our brand colours are subtle enough not to be overpowering but catchy enough to stand out and be noticed.

“We really want to be creative with our toppings and flavours. We are aiming to have a menu that changes every 2 weeks, and our customers will be able to see what is coming up by engaging with us on our Facebook page and through other social media platforms.

“We will be consistently providing our box of 4 doughnuts, but the toppings will change frequently.”

“We will continue to provide our Doughnut Dippers, and these too will change regularly, often to celebrate important calendar dates. We are expanding to cater for small events such as birthdays, baby showers and weddings and we cannot wait to supply people with a little joy on their special occasions.

Doughnut Dreams are currently running a competition for customers to win a free product on the opening weekend! They officially open on Friday the 19th of March and pre-ordering is available now.

Hannah stated “we just want to say a huge thank you for the support we have received so far. We really appreciate it!”
