A takeaway owner based in Louth has been fined and banned from operating following a number of serious food hygiene breaches.

Mr Ibrahim Cinalp, owner of Bodrum A S Ltd on Aswell Street, pleaded guilty to the six separate offences identified during a routine inspection.

The offences included failing to maintain fixtures, fittings and equipment in a clean condition, failure to keep high risk foods under effective temperature control and exposing food to a risk of contamination.
He was also found guilty of failing to implement an effective procedure to manage food safety and failing to comply with a Hygiene Improvement Notice served following the Environmental Health Officer’s inspection.

Following a hearing at Boston Magistrates Court on 8th March 2021, Mr Cinalp was fined £200.
He was also awarded costs of £1,800 and a victim surcharge of £32, bringing the total to £2,032.
Portfolio Holder for Operational Services, Councillor Martin Foster, said:
“Whilst our Environmental Health Team continue to provide advice and information to food businesses during these difficult and unprecedented times, the Council will not tolerate persistent offenders who put their customer’s health at risk by failing to comply with food safety regulations.”
Mr Cinalp has now been issued with a Prohibition Order which prevents him from managing a food takeaway or retail business in the future.
