Woman sustains ‘serious’ injuries in dog attack

Humberside Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a woman was attacked by a dog

It is reported that on Thursday 11 March at approximately 7:30pm, the woman was approached by the dog on Hainton Avenue, Grimsby.

It subsequently bit her when she knelt to retrieve something from the ground.

The victim sustained serious injury to her face and required medical treatment as a result.

The dog was not in the company of its owner and is described as a Brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:

“We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident and we are also asking for the owner of the dog to come forward to assist with our enquiries.

“If anyone has any information, or CCTV, please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 16/29981/21.”
