The vaccine rollout is progressing well in North Lincolnshire, with the programme now two months ahead of the Government’s prediction.

72,834 people in North Lincolnshire have now received their first dose of the vaccine.

2,858 have had also had a second jab.

A total of 7,398 people in North Lincolnshire have been vaccinated in the past week.

If things are able to continue at this rate, with around 6,500 people receiving jabs each week, it should take just 10 weeks for all adults to receive a first dose.

The governments prediction is that all adults will have had their first dose by the end of July.

But these figures put North Lincolnshire two months ahead!

This fantastic update comes less than a week after the opening of the areas first mass vaccination centre at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe.

With the site operational 12 hours a day, seven days a week, staff are now administering between 500 and 1000 vaccines a day.

Dr Satpal Shekhawat, Medical Director at NHS North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said:

“The vaccination programme in our region is progressing really well and we are pleased to note that more than 500,000 vaccinations have already been provided to the most vulnerable groups in Humber Coast and Vale.

“Having another large centre in one of our towns will enable us to reach an even greater number of people as we continually expand our programme.

“I would urge everyone to take up the offer of this free vaccination when you receive your invite from the NHS. Whatever your background and wherever you live, this vaccine is a life-saver and there are many options for you in terms of where to get your vaccine.”
