“Day of action” for drug offences on West Marsh successful

Officers from Humberside Police had a “day of action” on the West Marsh earlier this week, tackling drugs in the area using a variety of means.

The patrol team used a sniffer dog and a HFRS drone to detect drug offences taking place on several streets in the area.

Humberside Police have described it as “good news this week” and a “successful day”, with six positive stop and searches.

They have issued a statement which reads: “We will be out again in the future. We would like to encourage the local community to report issues such as drug dealing to us.

“This can be done by phoning us on 101. Alternatively, you can speak to us when you see us out and about.

“At the moment, we are holding monthly outdoor opportunities to speak to us at the Duke of York Gardens.”

If you wish to report drug offences on the West Marsh and want to remain anonymous, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
