Green-light for new beauty salon in Cleethorpes

Conversion planned for former Cleethorpes shop

A former charity shop in Cleethorpes could soon be converted into a beauty salon and venue for children’s parties.

Until recently, the site at 2 Market Street served as an Age UK charity shop. It sadly shut for good following multiple forced closures due to the pandemic.

An Immingham resident has now submitted a planning application for change of use to North East Lincolnshire Council. She said:

“Our plan for the is to conduct children’s VIP pamper parties, covering up to 6 children at present, with a maximum of 8 children once all Covid regulations are lifted.

“We will also host mother and daughter pamper days, and provide minor beauty treatments for all ages and genders.

“We believe this will be hugely successful and beneficial for the local area, with other local shops profiting from the increased footfall.”

The property is situated within a conservation area, but the plan has not required input from a heritage officer.

It has been left in a run-down state, but could be renovated if plans are approved.

Plans to change the layout of the property have also been submitted.

The application is currently under consideration.

A decision is expected by the summer.
