An exciting new restaurant is set to open this Thursday for takeout! The Smoke & Iron is methods of cooking and also a nod to the Iron link within Scunthorpe.
Business manager Coleen McGovern said “We looked at all the takeaways available in the area and thought we could offer something different. Many menu items are “Build your own” which means we prepare and deliver ingredients separately so that when they arrive, they are in a fresh just cooked state for you to put together when you are ready to eat.
“An example of this is when I eat a burger, I really like to place sauces etc in the order I like them, so
this allows me to do this, also as you do not place the items in the bun until your ready to eat then
nothing gets squashed or is affected by the heat of the burger, also the bun does not go soggy and break up.
Coleen continues “Cooking fresh is important to us, our beef brisket for example is marinated for 5 days before its 4-6hr cooking process. We take allergens very seriously; the information is on every item on the ordering process and again at delivery or collection as every product has a sticker.
End your meal with this fantastic S’mores set, comes complete with reusable flame gel
“100% of our packaging is either made form plants, compostable, biodegradable or fully recyclable.”
“The menu is Burgers, BBQ, Dirty fries, Sharing boxes, Fajitas, Burritos, salad trays.
We have really tried to look at how we have as many items as possible to be gluten free and vegan! Also, halal meat and ingredients have been used where possible.”
