Elderly man assaulted on Walgrave Street
Humberside Police have issued an appeal after an elderly man was violently assaulted on Walgrave Street, Newland Avenue, Hull.
The incident happened at approximately 10:45am on Tuesday 6 April.
Due to a broken-down vehicle an elderly man began to reverse his car out of Walgrave Street, close to the Newland Avenue junction where a man was crossing.
It is reported that as the man crossed the junction, he became angry and aggressive to elderly man in his car because the vehicle became to close where he was crossing.
As the elderly man wound down his window in an attempt to apologise to the man crossing the road, the unknown man is believed to have spat at victim and caused to damage to his car.
When the victim stepped out of his car the unknown man is reported to have assaulted the victim.
Officers are now looking to identify the man in these CCTV images, as he may have information which will help the investigation:
The victim required medical treatment for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
