New Covid test collection site to be set up on Grimsby Docks

North East Lincolnshire Council are opening a new Covid test collection site on Grimsby Docks to help with the demand as free rapid tests are made available to everyone.

The move to offer twice-weekly testing to everyone in the UK was announced by the Government earlier this week.

Tests will be available to take at various sites across the borough. Locals will also be able to carry out tests at home.

The tests, which produce a result within 30 minutes, have been vital in identifying positive cases early, allowing them to self-isolate and reduce the spread of the virus.

Initially the new Grimsby site, which will be situated at the end of North Quay Road on the North Wall on Grimsby docks, will be established for those working on the docks to collect home testing kits.

Anyone over 16 years of age can now access regular testing, which is already available at most pharmacies, Grimsby Town Hall, Immingham Civic Centre and the Knoll in Cleethorpes.

To book a test or arrange to collect some home testing kits, visit the council website here.
