Leisure facilities reopen in Hull

Leisure facilities across Hull are reopening today, Monday 12 April, as lockdown restrictions begin to ease in England.

Ennerdale and Woodford Leisure Centres, Albert Ave Pools and Costello Stadium have all reopened their doors to those with gym, swim and racquets bookings.

Outdoor fitness classes are also permitted to restart, but indoor classes, alongside steam rooms and saunas will remain closed.

According to Hull City Council, numbers permitted in the gym and swimming pool will have a reduced capacity to ensure strict social distancing and hygiene guidelines are maintained.

All visits must be pre-booked online via the website.

Alison Walker, Director of Leisure Services for Hull Culture and Leisure said:

“We’re really pleased to be reopening leisure centres and our teams are looking forward to welcoming customers back.

“Encouraging people back to active sports and recreation is a great way to lift spirits, promote health and wellbeing and help us all to fight the effects of lockdown.

“It is still incredibly important that customers follow the latest Government guidance on social distancing and hygiene.”

Both Beverley Road Baths and the Hull Ice Arena remain closed due to ongoing refurbishment and maintenance works.

Online bookings for the Animal Education Centre at East Park will open from Wednesday 14 April with a one-way system.

Tee time booking slots are now also open at Sutton Park golf course.
