A busy Sunday afternoon saw Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue volunteers saving a fox minutes before a land-owner had planned to shoot it.

The team attended a local farm after they received reports that a fox had been caught with its neck in a snare.

They arrived just in time, as the land-owner made it clear that he had planned to have the fox shot for the safety of his livestock.

He subsequently agreed to have the fox relocated.

“As we were getting it out of the snare the shooter arrived, all we could say is ‘you’re one lucky fox,'” added a spokesperson for Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue.
“This young boy is now going to be relocated in a similar area near a friend we know who loves foxes and will be able to help us ensure it settles in.”
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue are now supporting the land-owner with non-lethal measures.

A fundraising campaign has been launched to raise funds for 4 new intensive care incubators to support the rescue and rehabilitation of injured wildlife.
