By Local groups and councils across North Lincolnshire have shared £118,000 of community grant funding.
Amongst that it will help the people of Messingham celebrate the easing of Covid-19 restrictions and buy equipment to help girls in Frodingham increase their self-esteem.
The money, which has been awarded by North Lincolnshire Council, will be used in a variety of schemes designed to improve local facilities and resources, enhance the environment and build safer, stronger communities.
The awards include:
- £38,295 to Scawby Parish Council
- £15,000 to Bottesford Town Council
- £15,000 to Westlands Social Club, Burton upon Stather
- £8,000 to MessFess21, Messingham
- £7,101 to Burton upon Stather Parish Council
- £6,589 to Bottesford Town Football Club
- £5,600 to Broughton Amateur Dramatic Society
- £6,488 to Normanby Park Sport & Activity Club
- £4,804 to Crowle Colts Men’s Football Club
- £3,600 to Barton Allotment Society
- £2,700 to Broughton Village Hall
- £1,900 to St Hybald’s Church, Hibaldstow
- £1,758 to Girls Friendly Society Frodingham
- £1,229 to St John the Evangelist Church, Brigg
All the organisations have contributed their own funds to the proposed schemes.
MessFest21 is being organised by Messingham Horse & Foal Show, which will put the money towards holding a one-off social event in August to help the community celebrate the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

The Girls Friendly Society in Frodingham will put their funds towards buying equipment which will provide girls with the opportunity to develop self-esteem, confidence, wellbeing and resilience.
Scawby Parish Council will use their grant award, along with £17,000 of their own funds, for a multi-use games area in the village.
Community grants are available to most non-profit organisations with social aims, and applications are expected to show how the project will keep people safe and well, enable communities to flourish and promote economic growth.
