Six arrested after body found in woods
Six people, including one from Hull, have been arrested after the body of a man was found in dumped in woodland.
Tomasz Dembler, 39, was found in woods near Flatts Lane Country Park in Middlesbrough on 12 April – he is thought to have been killed several weeks earlier.
The discovery prompted police to raid five homes in Middlesbrough and one in Hull.
Five men, 46, 36, 36, 44 and 27, and one woman, 36, were arrested.
The 46 year old was arrested in Hull.
According to reports by the BBC, the police have confirmed that all of the suspects were Polish. They remain in police custody.
Police have now renewed their appeal for information.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Murphy-King said:
“Today sees a significant development in the case after a considerable amount of work by the investigation team.
“We have had a good response from the public following the appeals last week, but I would still urge people to come forward and tell us what they know.
“We are continuing to provide support to Tomasz’s family and are keeping them updated with developments.
“Our thoughts are with them as we continuing with our work to seek justice for Tomasz.”
